Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 unless needed

Job Status: Full Time

Amount of Travel: 20-30%

Position Summary

The IT Support Specialist uses established fact-finding approaches, knowledge of pertinent work procedures, systems software, and computer equipment to troubleshoot and maintain systems in good operating condition. This individual will analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate issues with hardware, software, cloud SAAS systems, and when needed, the network. Perform maintenance to ensure computers and equipment on the network operate correctly with minimal interruption. Candidate must have a valid Class D driver's license.

  • Configure, update, and maintain computers, tablets, and some mobile devices.
  • Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
  • Analyze and report security issues and breaches of protocols.
  • Identify the causes of problems using diagnostic testing software and equipment.
  • Document network support activities through the help desk software system.
  • Configure server processes, cloud SAAS, and other software to accommodate user needs.
  • Install network software, including security or firewall software.
  • Provide telephone support related to help desk requests.
  • Analyze data to determine usage, disk space availability, or potential issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking components or equipment.
  • Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems.
  • Monitor industry websites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification.
  • Create or update technical documentation for installations or changes to existing installations.
  • Train users in procedures related to applications software or related systems.
  • Test repaired items to ensure proper operation.
  • Document help desk requests and resolutions.
  • Research hardware or software products to meet technical networking or security needs.

Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school or equivalent relevant experience) Field of study: Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or Directly related field

Experience: 1 plus years of experience providing IT support.

Computer Skills: This position requires knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures required to design, analyze, and maintain Local Area Network systems and related software.

Work Environment: Position requires the ability to sit for a long period of time while using a computer. The work will be conducted within an office environment but there may be a slight possibility of going out into the field.
