Job Title: IT Policy Writer
Position Type: Contract for 12 months
Location: Dallas, TX 75254 (Hybrid)
Primary Skills: Technical writer, IT policies, standards, procedures Frameworks: COBIT, ITIL, ISO, NIST, etc
Secondary Skills: Not only technical writer, but it also somewhat of an expert in the realm of IT policies and procedures that can help advise and provide recommendations as we go through the process. The frameworks we care about are the likes of COBIT, ITIL, ISO, NIST, etc.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Review, Develop and Maintain the library of IT Policies, Standards and Procedures.
· Develop and document new IT Policies, Standards and Procedures, edit the existing documentation.
· Plan and organize the library.
· Manage the continuity of the style of content.
· Research independently and/or work with relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders in the development of the documentation.
· Manage the review of the documentation by stakeholders.
· Publish the IT Policies, Standards and Procedures, promote awareness.
· Manage and co-ordinate updates and revisions to the documentation.
Requirements
· 3-4 years' proven experience working in a relevant IT Policy writing position.
· Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, methodologies, and frameworks, e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO, NIST etc.
· Proficient in MS Office tools.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Able to work independently, possess good time management skills, able to prioritize and multi-task.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Information Systems, or related field.
