MG-IP Law, P.C. (Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, P.C.) is seeking a part-time IP Trademark Assistant to work in a remote team environment.
Job duties for an IP Trademark Assistant include coordinating many aspects of trademark prosecution from filing to registration, including docketing incoming client correspondence, docketing incoming USPTO correspondence, billing, client correspondence, and status checks.
Client correspondence includes reporting out various incoming and outgoing documents to clients, such as USPTO submissions made by the trademark attorneys (new trademark applications, responses to Office Actions, statements of use, extensions of time, section 8/15 declarations, renewal applications, assignments, changes of name and address, requests to delete section 1b, filing foreign registrations, responding to suspension inquiries, notices of opposition, petitions for cancellation, etc.) and incoming USPTO documents (Notices of Recordation, Notices of Publication, Office Actions, Notice of Acceptance of Statement of Use, Notices of Allowance, Certificates of Registration, Notice of Acceptance and Renewal, etc.).
Job duties also include maintaining and organizing electronic files and file records, opening new trademark matters, formatting trademark images supplied by clients, complying with USPTO and MGIP rules and regulations, as well as other projects and tasks on an as-needed basis.
Applicants will preferably have 1 year of general IP trademark experience. On-the-job training will be provided.
Requirements:Applicants must possess the following skills:
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent proofreading and writing skills, and attention to detail.
- Organized and able to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Sufficiently computer literate and capable in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. A college degree is a plus.
- Ability to lift/carry at least 20 lbs.
