Job Summary:
Sunnyvale Seafood Co. dba SSC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to join our team. In this role, you will monitor and report on the companys inventory. The Inventory Control Manager will ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible in accordance with the organizations inventory cycle. Your goal is to optimize inventory handling procedures in order to support critical business goals. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and business skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep precise records. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for controlling the quality, inventory, storage, and issue of fresh and frozen seafood purchases. The Inventory Control Manager must be able to develop yield percentages on all cuts of fish, developing orders from projected needs, and evaluating the quality of all products received. In conjunction with the Senior Buyer, verify all inventory levels to assure all the Companys seafood needs will be met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages and analyzes all aspects for Inventory Control management.
Hires and trains Inventory Control staff.
Oversees the job assignments and activities of Inventory Control staff.
Collaborates with warehouse managers to provide performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Manages all aspects for the proper receipt, storage, and issue of all products; ensuring proper rotation and controls are maintained. Responsible for ensuring that quality, specification, and proper weights on all received merchandise are appropriate and up to standard.
Manages the issuance of all product charges through purchasing system on a daily basis, coordinating with Inventory Control in ensuring proper inventory counts and controls.
Collaborates with sales and procurement teams to provideexact/accurate inventory in multiple locations.

Duties/Responsibilities
:
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of seafood products. Implement suitable methods for Inventory Control, including FIFO, etc. Cooperate with vendors, warehouses, and customers to manage and deal with discrepancies and protect the interests of the company.
To be responsible for Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis tools and software to track inventory trends, forecast demand, and identify potential issues. Analyze historical sales data to optimize inventory replenishment and minimize overstock or understocksituations. Generate reports and insights to support data-driven decision-making.
To be responsible for Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Negotiate terms with suppliers to optimize pricing, lead times, and order quantities.
To be responsible for Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency in inventory management. Streamline workflows toincrease productivity, avoid mistakes and reduce risk.
Creates inventory optimization procedures
Monitors inventory levels and identify shortages
Participates in the proper receipt of all products deliveries at the receiving cold storages along with warehouse receiving personnel.
Conducts daily physical inventory of all stock on hand and reviews same with buyer to assure all customer needs are met on time and minimize waste.
Controls all routine and special class orders on a daily basis.
Provides product information to the Sales team relevant to product needs, usage, identification, yields, and availability.
Conducts all month end inventories, rectifying discrepancies and accuracy of charges made.
Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
Communicates with Purchasing Department as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc.
Maintains a working knowledge of all species of seafood purchased, and their culinary applications in order to assist Sales team in both product utilization and substitution.
Ensures milestones and goals are met.
Ensures adherence to approved budget.
Performs and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse.
Operates forklift as needed.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in business administration or related field
Previous experience as an Inventory Control Manager is preferred
Five (5) years of experience in food service, with some experience working with seafood.
APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred but not required
Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
Familiarity with inventory management software
Ability to accurately report on inventory
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with attention to detail
At least three years of supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in cold and wet environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to business needs.
Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
