Nevada County is seeking Intern Coordinators for our Achieve More Internship Program!
We would like to invite you to be a part of an exciting an innovative team of interns! Join the Nevada County Human Resources Department as an Internship Coordinator Intern.
As an Internship Coordinator you may perform work including but not limited to the following:
- Under supervision from staff, collaborate with our partners in each Agency/Department to identify intern positions and assist with crafting the required documents to advertise internship opportunities.
- Work with internal and external partners in developing Position Descriptions and training plans for internships.
- Review internship applications in our NeoGov software program.
- Work with staff on the placement of intern applicants.
- Attend and facilitate internal and external workshops and meetings to promote internship opportunities.
- Assist with preparation and presentation of oral and/or written reports.
- Attend career fairs and hiring events.
- Work in our NeoGov software platform, Careers in Government, College Central, Handshake and Army Pix programs.
- Work in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Conduct interviews and meetings in Zoom and Microsoft Teams
This internship program prepares interns to complete for entry to mid-level administrative positions. It provides you with knowledge and experience working in a local government human resources environment. During your internship, you are encouraged to develop dynamically growing skills and to further gain experience and proficiency in your role. Internships can prepare you for progression into permanent County positions, if available.

Candidates selected for the position may be asked to perform a range of duties from very basic activities to those requiring higher skill levels and professional expertise.
This Internship is best suited for participants of regional occupation programs, community college students, or college graduates that took coursework in accounting, business, communications, or human resources related fields. Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, reliable, neat appearance.
Internship durations vary from 90 days to 365 days. Interns may work a minimum of 16 hours up to 40 hours per week. Our office offers flexible hours and schedules during regular business hours (Monday through Friday). This internship opportunity is offered in-person at the Nevada County Human Resources office located in Nevada City, California.
