THE ROLE

The Staffing Coordinator will report to the Manager, Student Engagement Specialists at the Ohio State Engagement Center to execute Human Resource related responsibilities including but not limited to, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee development tasks to help increase staff efficiency and productivity as well as improve current processes. This position will provide exposure to recruitment, onboarding, and working in a higher education/fundraising environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Recruitment:

    • Create and execute yearly recruitment plan
    • Submit student position availability to newsletters and complete job board requests
    • Work with Philanthropic Content team and Engagement Center teams on recruitment assets and collateral
    • Register and attend Involvement Fairs, Career Fairs, tabling across campus, etc.
    • Schedule interviews with potential new hires including reserving conference room space and collecting availability from candidates
    • Develop environmental recruiting plan that includes, but is not limited to, on campus signage, tabling, digital ads, etc.
    • Ensure that predetermined metrics such as hours and available seats are met through hiring activity

  • Onboarding

    • Work alongside the Manager, Student Engagement Specialists and the Legends Human Resources team to facilitate new hire onboarding.
    • Send offer emails to new hires to collect and record contact information
    • Update company databases by entering new employee contact information to ensure data consistency across applications
    • Send necessary onboarding emails to HR
    • Send onboarding emails and updates to new hires and provide assistance with onboarding process
    • Submit BuckID swipe access request to building manager
    • Submit necessary technology requests related to onboarding/training for new hires
    • Complete offboarding tasks such as terminating technology access and building access

  • Student Development

    • Create and execute a semesterly speaker schedule that allows students to broaden their networks with all EC partnerships: EC Alumni, Legends personnel, OSUAA personnel
    • Assist in the organization of company events and other activities

  • Manage a pipeline between the student position and full-time opportunities within Legends and the Engagement Center


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Current Ohio State University student with a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA (Preferably a student in a Human Resources/Business major or related field).
  • Strong time management and project management skills; ability to multitask in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Resourceful, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious.
  • Experience with Microsoft office.

    • Including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Visio
