Transforming Lives, Inc. (TLI) is looking for a dedicated professional to serve as our Interim Director of In-School Alternative Programs (or "ISAP"). These programs operate within public secondary schools throughout Wilmington and Newark, Delaware. TLI looks to place someone in the role permanently by the summer of 2024. The Interim Director will be strongly considered for the permanent Director position.

JOB SUMMARY
The goal of the Interim Director of In-School Alternative Programs is to ensure the provision of high-quality services to secondary students in a program designed to intervene on student misbehavior before it escalates to an even greater level. The In-School Alternative Program (ISAP) operates within public schools. The Interim Director is responsible for the all-around health and success of the program, and will supervise a team of eight (8) Youth Interventionists across all of the secondary schools within the Christina School District. The Interim Director will regularly visit the schools/programs for general oversight, maintain direct communication with the schools leadership teams, and ultimately facilitate successful services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly visit all ISAP schools/classrooms, and maintain 360 awareness of the programming.
Work with building leadership teams to craft a vision of success tailored for each school.
Craft and communicate short- and long-term program goals, and regularly assess their progress.
Oversee the transition process: including student referrals, intakes, student observations, district reviews, and students transitioning to their home school.
Ensure the provision of high quality SEL programming.
Create a system of student data collection for our Youth Interventionists, and regularly monitor and report these data. Make course corrections and adjustments when the data deem necessary.
Assess performance of personnel, and make appropriate hiring decisions.
Coordinate the supervision of all extracurricular and co-curricular school programs and activities.
Facilitate parent and community involvement in the school.
OTHER DUTIES
Adhere to the principal elements of our behavioral health services, including, but not limited to, trauma informed care (TIC), Restorative Practices, evidence-based practices and mindfulness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise a team of 8 Youth Interventionists.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all ISAP programs throughout the State.
Ensures the completion of supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Coordinate and create meaningful professional development trainings for staff.
Prepare for and attend IEP/best interest meetings for students.
Attend and orchestrate district meetings as needed with our stake holders.
Provide informal and formal coaching and feedback to staff for professional growth.
Provide instructional leadership in the delivery of effective best practices.
Support the completion of mid-year and end of the year data reports to reflect on student outcomes.
Conduct quarterly evaluations of supervisees effectively.
Complete incident/injury reports within 24 hours.

TRAVEL
This job requires regular travel between the various locations of the In-School Alternative Program. Additional travel is required to attend professional development, staff meetings, and meetings in our partnership public schools.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Masters Degree, preferably in Education, Clinical Psychology, or related field.
3-5 years related experience.
A valid license in teaching, administration, or counseling/psychology.
OR
A commensurate combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5-7 years related experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to speak and write formally and effectively.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical operations pursuant to student data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
