Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Kuiper team is looking for an Interdisciplinary Manufacturing Engineer to support business and engineering stakeholders in developing, implementing and monitoring secure manufacturing processes within our supply base.
This will require the Interdisciplinary Manufacturing Engineer to dive deep into the supplier manufacturing processes, identify areas with gaps, and guide the suppliers through process implementation and improvements to ensure they are able to meet our secure manufacturing process requirements and deliver high volume products in order to enable Kuiper objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record working with a global supply base on defining, implementing new processes and scaling manufacturing in order to achieve business needs. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.
Key job responsibilities
Responsible for supplier secure manufacturing readiness and secure manufacturing data (keys, certs) exchange with supplier to enable secure boot and encrypted communication between Kuiper devices.
• Define and implement data exchange process for security information between Kuiper system and supplier system.
• Define and implement provisioning process at modem manufacturing sites.
• Document secure manufacturing process and monitor the process compliance.
• Responsible for supplier readiness to support Kuiper manufacturing requirement including provisioning and testing equipment and testing scripts.
• Work as part of a cross-functional team to support volume manufacturing

About the team
In this role as an Interdisciplinary Manufacturing Engineer, you will be actively working with Ground Gateway and Telemetry terminal design team, supply chain, quality, manufacturing system and security team to develop and implement secure manufacturing process across global supply base. The products will enable mission critical, high throughput communications with Kuiper satellites. Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to manufacture, test, and distribute solutions and products globally enabling Kuiper’s global network.
