The Intellectual Property (IP) Project Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of all project assistants in the IP department. Specifically, they will supervise project assistant work assignments, conduct training, and assign new workflows as necessary. The IP Project Assistant Supervisor will also be responsible for mentoring and counseling IP project assistants as appropriate to ensure a highly skilled project assistant workforce.
Responsibilities- Supervise IP Project Assistant assignments and assign workflows as appropriate
- Create a structured training program for IP Project Assistants, and conduct regular training for IP Project Assistants
- Coordinate Project Assistant workloads/responsibilities
- Review and approve timesheets and manage Project Assistant overtime
- Conduct interviews with Project Assistant candidates for employee selection
- Work with local HR and the IP Paralegal Manager to negotiate compensation for IP Project Assistants and Project Assistant candidates
- Conduct Project Assistant evaluations
- Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent); college degree and/or a paralegal certificate from a school approved by the ABA is preferred
- Candidate must have at least two (2) years' experience in an IP lead role and five (5) years' experience in US and international patent prosecution.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a typing speed of 50 wpm are also required.
