Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Intellectual Property Docketing Paralegal to join our very active IP Team to provide administrative and docketing support to Intellectual Property Counsel on all matters as required.
How you will make an impact:
- Provide regular docket reports from the docketing database to include current schedule of current patent and trademark matters that require responses, project summary updates, foreign filing listings, family trees of projects, and other ad-hoc reports requested by Intellectual Property Counsel.
- Review of correspondence from outside counsel and all incoming reports, and update the internal IP docketing database with deadlines and other pertinent data as required.
- Enter new patent and trademark matters into the docketing database.
- Review matters to ensure that outside counsel is responding in a timely manner.
- Work closely with other company personnel to ensure their timely response.
- Routinely perform audits of the internal IP docketing database.
- Coordinating with CPI, in-house attorneys, outside counsel and foreign associates, when applicable, to ensure all annuity deadlines are monitored and instructed on accordingly.
- Prepare and send to Foreign Associates the India Working Statements required yearly.
Skills we are looking for:
- 3 or more years of Intellectual Property docketing paralegal experience.
- Professional demeanor, attention to detail, high quality work standards, and the ability to prioritize and perform effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Unusually strong attention to detail.
- Ability to act independently to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills with experience in WORD, EXCEL, Outlook, ePCT and with the USPTO’s EFS, PAIR, Patent Center and Financial Manager.
- Proficiency docketing databases. (Experience with CPi is preferred).
- Ability to act as prosecution back-up for paralegal coverage is preferred (help with uploading to EFS-Web/Patent Center, filing of assignments, notarizing documents etc.).
