About the Job:

We are currently seeking an Intellectual Property Administrator, reporting directly to the Vice President, Global Intellectual Property to join our IP team based in Houston, TX. The IP Administrator is a key role within the IP team that will manage the formal requirements of the Company's global IP portfolio. The person serving in this role needs to be a leader that can develop and implement robust processes and controls to implement strategy and protect the company's IP assets.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will contribute to the implementation of the company's overall strategy for the protection of intellectual property. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Managing the formalities of the IP process (including patent and trademark filing, procurement and maintenance) by coordinating with internal and external IP practitioners and external legal service providers.
  • Accurately docketing and entering of IP data into relevant databases.
  • Establishing, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures, workflows, and training resources.
  • Responsibility for all other IP administrative activities, including document management systems, and billing oversight.
  • Participating as a full member of the IP team, including identifying and actively engaging in projects to simplify work processes.

About You:

Qualifications
  • Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with US and international patent prosecution processes, procedures, and requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with US trademark prosecution processes and procedures.
  • Experienced user of USPTO/Patent Center, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe® Acrobat, and electronic docketing systems.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience related to providing administrative patent support.
