Position Overview:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the development, deployment, and sustainment of provider focused e-learning and asynchronous materials and curricula for multiple units within Provider Operations. Using educational and instructional design theories, practices, and methods to design eLearning courses to enhance the skills and capabilities of CBH network providers.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for defining, managing, and leading eLearning projects within the constraints of business requirements and needs.
  • Leads effort to utilize eLearning to maximize system benefit and ensure seamless integration of e-learning technology with instructor led trainings and other modalities to create an effective learning environment.
  • Support subject matter expert (SME) on e-learning best practices to ensure training content is appropriate.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and recommend the appropriate tools, media, and teaching strategies to accomplish course goals, objectives and outcomes and assist with the identification, selection and application of course materials .
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of trends and advances of eLearning best practices, technologies, and techniques.
  • Serves as LMS (Learning Management System) CBH administrator, to include support, troubleshooting and resolving provider user issues.
  • Assumes responsibility for new and ongoing maintenance of all eLearning courses and assures optimum operating performance.
  • Determines project and resource estimates, costs and expected benefits and deadlines as evidenced by completed project plan for new eLearning courses.
  • Ensures consistent style, formatting, and CBH branding of all eLearning materials.
  • Works directly with CBH leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities to capitalize on e-learning courses and to identify potential projects.
  • Makes recommendations on future improvements to content organization, workflow processes and user experience.
  • Coordinate and align department’s efforts with those of other departments.
  • Performs other support activities and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications or related studies or equivalent work experience in learning and development
  • Relevant Work Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience designing and developing eLearning course content.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in Advanced Articulate Storyline 360 expertise and in other eLearning authoring tools
    • Advanced PowerPoint skills
    • Video and audio recording, editing and production skills
    • Experience publishing courses in LMS
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrates the use of critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize needs rapidly.
    • Creative eye that pays close attention to layout and graphic design
    • Highly motivated and self-directed
    • Familiarity with behavioral health and managed care practices
    • Strong problem-solving capabilities
    • Strong relationship building skills to influence and work collaboratively with internal departments
    • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
    • Facility course development feedback through pilot cycle process
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Highly organized, detail oriented, and dependable individual
    • Proficient with Windows-based PC systems and Microsoft Office, Smartsheet
