WE CAN PROVIDE INTERVIEWS VIA ZOOM POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Instructional Assistant, Early Head Start (Level IV) is done for the purpose(s) of assisting in the supervision and instruction of infants and toddler-aged children (0 - 3 years old); performing classroom clerical tasks; assisting children in meeting health and nutrition needs and developing children's cognitive and emotional skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: An Associate's degree from an accredited college/university including completion of 24 semester units of ECE/CD coursework from a regionally accredited college/university. Instructional Assistants assigned to work with infants must have 6 infant/toddler units. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Six months experience working as an instructional assistant.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: A complete application must meet the criteria listed below and must have the following documentation attached to your online EdJoin application prior to the position closing date/time:

  • Copy of Transcript (Copy of legible transcripts must be attached to your application, showing Associate's Degree conferral date from an accredited college/university - transcripts must also show completion of 24 semester units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development (ECE/CD) coursework AND 6 infant/toddler units. (Must attach transcripts showing grades earned - Diploma copies will not be accepted))
  • Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two Letters of Recommendation are required and must be attached to your application. Both letters must be hand-signed by the author and must have a date on the letter that is within the last two years prior to the date your application is submitted. Letters without a hand-signature, letters that are electronically signed, and letters without a date or with a date more than 2 years old will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred, but not required)
