Description:Under general supervision of the Helpdesk Supervisor, the Information Technology Technician performs professional work on computer hardware and software. Installs and supports personal computers and network operations equipment. Assists and supports installation of network servers including operating systems, telecommunication equipment and application software.Essential Functions:Configures and installs personal computer hardware, printers, copiers, software packages and upgrades, and operating systems and upgrades.
Performs maintenance to meet the users and business needs.Assembles and installs PC hardware. Investigates and resolves routine hardware and communications problems; identifies and corrects operations problems on LYNX's computer systems to include software on premises and in the cloud.Installs Software for Desktop Management to include Asset Management Applications, Remote Desktop Applications, Software Delivery Applications, and SPAM filtering software.Provides support for users working remotely on LYNX issued equipment. Deploys system updates and patches.Documents and tracks all activities performed through the LYNX Helpdesk system.
Provides customized Helpdesk reports as needed; installs Helpdesk updates when available; and maintains a LYNX Helpdesk knowledgebase for common issues with easy lookup and solutions.Tests remote push installations within test environment prior to use on the network.Supports the IT asset life cycle management processes. Assists with the disposal of computer related hardware and software.Provides recommendations for the purchase of hardware and software needed to operate the network, servers, and desktop PC's to go in the annual fiscal year budget.Assists with development and implementation of wiring configuration standards, connectivity solutions, overall network operation systems, network software, server hardware configurations, network file systems and active directory structure. Assists with the administration of the Exchange Email Servers and Client Installations including smart phones.Performs setup and operation of the audio equipment in the board room, open space, and external public or private events; ensures sound levels are adequate for each event making adjustments as needed.
Records meetings and events and makes copies available as required.Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.Required Qualifications:Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus one year of experience supporting an enterprise level PC, LAN, and telephony infrastructure. Qualifying experience must include computer maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem resolution.Additional related experience beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for the required education on the ratio of one year of experience for each year of education.Must have Dell Client Course and Dell Enterprise Course certification or be able to obtain in 3 months of hire date.Desired Qualifications:Network+ certification and/or certification as Microsoft Certified Professional.CompTIA A+ certification helpfulKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.Knowledge of computer imaging, software installation and support, and implementation of standard desktop and laptop solutions.Knowledge of information technology concepts, techniques and operating principles.Knowledge of server operating environments; network software and hardware; database structures, concepts and best practices as well as Microsoft networking basics.Skills in printer and copier installation, configuration, component functions, driver installation, maintenance, and repairs.Ability to troubleshoot and operate a computer and various software packages to include Microsoft Office 2019 and Office 365.Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to diverse audiences both orally and in writing.Ability to handle multiple priorities and work successfully in a collaborative environment.Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential data and matters.Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.Ability to work in a diverse environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.Work Environment and Special Considerations:Works in an office environment.Works within a 24/7/365 team to deliver IT support services across multiple departments and locations.Must be available to work outside regular business hours depending upon the demands of the job, and in unusual or emergency situations.
