The Challenge:

Crave a challenge that is also rewarding? This is an operational support role to an active fighter unit; you will be responsible for the security and integrity of our systems that keep our jets flying.

It takes more than steel, advanced electronics and engine thrust to make the F-35 Lightning II, the world's fifth generation fighter, take flight. It is the Mission Planning Environment (MPE) that gives F-35 Lightning II operators the ability to plan, to maintain, to plan and sustain its systems over the life of the air vehicle. MPE provides the IT backbone and capabilities to support current and future Warfighters across the U.S. and allied military services.

As critical members of the F35 Operations Team, all MPE administrators must be able to:

* Obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance required for program access

* This is an operational support role to active fighter units. Administrators must be willing and able to travel for military deployments/detachments (ship and/or shore) for extended periods of time dependent upon operational needs.

* Capable of working various shift hours to include weekends to support customer mission requirements.

* Candidates offered a position may be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam that is designed to ensure capability to deploy with our military customer, which may be to austere environments with limited access to medical care.

A Day in the Life:

As an MPE Administrator with our F-35 MPE team partnering with our customer, you will wear many hats, mission planning admin duties, system admin duties, and network admin duties. MPE Administrators are generally the first point of contact for customer inquiries, field any questions and/or concern and troubleshoot any reported problems. You will be assigned tasks in most MPE administrative roles to further develop your skills and increase capabilities within the MPE administrator role.

* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o Experienced Subject Matter Expert for the Mission Planning Support Environment (MPSE) product suite

o Primary customer point of contact for technical items

o Perform COMSEC CRO duties and adhere to requirements; train others in COMSEC

o Support pilots in Mission Planning/Debriefing and identify/resolve system shortfalls

o Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) installation, data updates, and advanced troubleshooting

o Manage administration, support and monitoring of associated hardware/software of the MPSE

o Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with peers, Tier 2 support and engineers

o Develop, refine and manage local training curriculum

o Manage and train the processes of backups, restorations, and disaster recovery of systems/databases/network equipment

o Lead both Autonomous Logistics Information System (ALIS) and MPE administrators during deployed operations. Act as focal point for all ALIS and MPSE matters before, during and after deployments.

Basic Qualifications

o Candidates must have a Secret security clearance with investigation within the last 6 years

o Ability to obtain and retain DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, or CCNA)

o IT experience of any combination in Mission Planning/system/network administration

o COMSEC and COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) experience

Desired skills

o Personal Computer Debrief Software (PCDS) experience

o Military Flight Operations & Planning Processes

o Account Maintenance using Active Directory/LDAP

o Disaster recovery: backups and restores of physical servers, virtual machines, and network equipment

o Maintaining/upgrading system hardware, startup/shutdown of all components and prepare all associated equipment for deployed operations

o Applying updates, anti-virus/anti-spyware updates, and patch updates

o Training Manager / Instructor experience

o Familiarity with Lockheed Martin products and processes, to include the JSF ALIS hardware and software

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $100,400 - $192,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $115,500 - $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
