We're actively seeking a talented Information Protection Engineering Lead to join our Security Operations Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.
As a Information Protection Engineering Lead, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by partnering with the business and Enterprise Information Security Office to ensure our information is protected throughout it's lifecycle. You will fill a new role that sits on the Information Risk and Security Operations team operating at the enterprise level. Your colleagues will include all levels of the business, security, and IT.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead delivery of information protection program objectives by implementing policies/rules that protect data through its lifecycle while monitoring controls to ensure compliance with Pacific Life policies and standards.
- Support Information Risk and Security Operations leadership in the influence/definition of program strategy and roadmaps
- Assess, report on, and make recommendations regarding current and proposed architectures, strategies, and systems
- Analyze business requirements and data to provide recommendations for tuning policies/rules to improve the accuracy across systems
- Create and maintain documentation related to information protection solutions, including conceptual, logical, and physical diagrams; new environment design documents; write-ups on technical capabilities and solution configurations
- Lead the information protection operations teams to deliver on day-to-day commitments (e.g., audit responses and investigations, apply technical skills to recommend, implement, support, improve, and operate information protection technologies)
- Work in a collaborative cross-matrix environment and build and maintain key relationships throughout the business (e.g., Enterprise Information Security Office, Compliance, Data Governance, etc.).
- Provide subject matter expertise to management, business areas, and IT Teams, as well as implement and monitor appropriate security controls
The experience you will bring:
- 10+ years experience with Data Protection technology such as Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, Symantec, and Forcepoint
- 5+ years of experience working with a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) such as Defender for Cloud Apps and Netskope
- 5+ years experience protecting sensitive data (e.g., personal, financial, medical) in a regulated industry
- 3+ years experience with data privacy/protection regulations, such as CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, etc.
- A bachelor's degree in information systems or equivalent work experience is required; an M.B.A. or M.S. in Information Security is preferred.

- Hands on knowledge about Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Hands on knowledge of protecting sensitive data on endpoints
- One or more of the following certifications: GSEC, CEH, CISSP, CISA, GCIH, OSCP, AWS/Azure security

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$135,000.00 - $168,800.00 - $227,900.00
