Industrial Maintenance Technician

This position requires an active High Risk Public Trust

Provide operations and preventative maintenance of all Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Western Currency Facility (WCF) Air Pollution Control Devices (APCDs) and other environmental systems, preparing time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for various construction/maintenance-related projects, and other duties as needed to support the Environmental Engineering Branch (EEB) mission and objectives.

Industrial Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Include: 

• Assists Environmental Systems Operations & Maintenance (ESOM) Team Lead with the safe, clean, efficient and successful operation and preventative maintenance of all systems at the BEP WCF during production hours. 
• Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of environmental systems.
• Assists the ESOM Team Lead with ensuring that all environmental systems are operating in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances.
• Assists the ESOM Team Lead with collecting data for tracking and completing all environmental compliance reporting, inspection, and permitting requirements.  Enters all data required for keeping the EEB Environmental Management System up to date.
• Assists the ESOM Team Lead with tracking maintenance schedules for all environmental systems.
• Assists the ESOM Team Lead with preparing estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work; 
• Assists the ESOM Team Lead with preparing estimates or selecting vendors or subcontractors and reviewing material and labor requirements to determine the most cost-effective way of performing the work.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Industrial Maintenance Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Four (4) or more years of experience in industrial systems 
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment.
• Requires knowledge in general Industrial Maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. General carpentry and painting are useful but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers. 
• Ability to effectively use computer systems including PLCs controlling the equipment and a personal computer with standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems. 
• Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills. 
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time. 
• Ability to pass a U.S. Treasury Department Tier 1 background check for long-term access to the BEP WCF. This includes both a criminal and financial background check. 
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., to climb up to 30 feet, and to walk and maneuver in an industrial environment.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and masks.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
• Must be a US Citizen
