Import/Export Clerk (Direct Hire)

Our reputable client, based in Buffalo, is now seeking a knowledgeable Import/Export clerk to join their growing team. This Import/Export Clerk will be tasked with supporting key transportation clientele throughout the shipping process. Check out these great details!

Job Title: Import/Export Clerk

Job Type: Full-time/Direct Hire

Pay: $40,000 - $50,000 annually

Hours: 10am - 6:30pm Monday through Friday

Key duties for this Import/Export Clerk will include:

• Prepare necessary import/export documentation, calculate/quote applicable shipping fees and work with the team to compile carrier and route assignments.
• Track shipments and communicate with clients about the package's progress.
• Coordinate shipping with customs agents for clearance on international deliveries.
• Handle claims if any shipment issues happen to occur.

Import/Export professionals who wish to be considered for this role must possess the following background:

• HS diploma, college degree preferred
• At least 1-2 years' experience in a similar role; trucking industry experience preferred
• Basic understanding of PAPS/PARS and customs clearance processes
• Must have strong technical skills including swift typing/computer skills and great aptitude for MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Effective and clear communication skills, both written and verbally
• Must be VERY well-organized with an excellent ability to multi-task and problem solve
