Position Summary:
The Hydrocarbon Technician will assist with the production of high-quality cannabis extracts along with cleaning and maintaining laboratory and equipment, recording, and entering data, and associated tasks. The Hydrocarbon Technician will be responsible for the consistent, sanitary, and safe production of cannabis extracts and infused products utilizing company policies to successfully uphold quality and consistency of all products produced in compliance with State of Missouri marijuana laws and legislation. The individual has the responsibility of extracting, refining, and purifying cannabinoids, and terpenes from cannabis plant material into a concentrated form using solvents and solvent processes.
Essential Job Functions:
Transfer and prepare biomass for CO2, ethanol, and hydrocarbon extraction.
Perform CO2, ethanol, hydrocarbon, and separations.
Perform post processing operations such as winterization, distillation, rosin pressing, and decarboxylation.
Support the extraction packaging team if necessary.
Clean and sanitize extraction equipment and laboratory areas.
Wash and sterilize laboratory glassware.
Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and spot clean as necessary
Assisting in packaging socks
Ensure proper disposal of waste.
Assist in cross-training new and less-experienced technicians.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Ability to follow lab safety, preventative maintenance, and behavioral policies.
Minimum 2 years working in a cannabis extraction operation.
Experience working with state/compliance regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous waste.
Ability to work independently and in group settings.
Ability to follow a weekly production schedule.
Must be at least 21 years or older.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a cannabis production lab
