Currently Representing a long-time client, which is a West Coast Fortune 100 General Contractor established in 2007. Since then, it has expanded to five locations in California, Oregon, and Washington been a top five general contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley markets, with yearly revenue of $1 billion. They are an Award-winning commercial, healthcare, life science, mission-critical, educational, multi-family, and interior projects within the $50-500MM and the leadership team has been instrumental in the company's success thus far. In my 4 years working with them, they have shown no signs of slowing down. A portfolio of finished projects consists of high-profile clients, including Apple, Facebook, Uber, Genentech, Gilead, and UC San Francisco, and the company has a lengthy track record of sustained development and financial success.


What You Will Be Doing


Preconstruction

  • Recognize the components of a public lump-sum bid, gather the necessary resources, and put them all together.
  • Verify the precision and thoroughness of all quantity surveys, calculations, estimate details, and executive summaries.
  • Ensure that the terminology used corresponds to the data being disseminated and that the narrative information adequately communicates the estimate's scope and any relevant caveats.
  • Make and keep your scheduled appearances.
  • Maintain an orderly filing system and process documents (such as executive summaries, estimate detail reports, estimate narratives, and general correspondence) promptly.
  • Respond quickly to phone calls.
  • Remember the past and use it to your advantage in the present for greater productivity.
  • Any additional responsibilities that may be imposed.


Safety

  • Exhibit a normal, everyday concern for safety in all you do.
  • Learn about the safety standards expected, as well as the costs involved in meeting those standards for work that you execute yourself, work that you outsource, and for any sort of temporary safeguards.
  • Encourage and take part in internal training sessions (OSHA 30, Safety Breakfasts, etc.).


Business Development

  • Take part in industry associations and events to learn about new opportunities that can be used for the current project or expanded professional network.
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with customers and other interested parties to achieve success.
  • Get answers to pressing problems quickly.
  • Stay in constant contact with one another as you work on your assignments to ensure that everything gets done smoothly.
  • Always look out for the teams best interests without putting your own reputation or connections at risk.


Education & Experience

  • Experience as an HVAC/Plumbing estimator for either a trade partner in the HVAC/Plumbing industry or another general contractor.
  • Worked in the field for almost a decade.
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and other computer programs.
  • Competence with the cost-estimating software Timberline and the blue beam system.
  • Knowledge of Accubid Classic Pro and/or Accubid Anywhere is required.
  • Takeoff estimations need to be integrated with LiveCount, so proficiency with that program is required.
  • Learn the difference between what can be done in-house and what can be outsourced.
  • Exhibit a solid comprehension of the content included/required at the various tiers of project documentation. (schematic, design development, etc).
  • Possession of a PE Certificate
  • Life science, healthcare, higher education, large campus projects, mission-critical, Rule 20, conceptual estimating, and low voltage systems experience.

Base Pay: $135,000 - $165,000
