Position Highlights
Facilities Management is looking for a HVAC Mechanic, Lead to join our team. The qualified individual will lead work of Journey-level HVAC Mechanics and General Maintenance Mechanics and participate in the repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of systems. The candidate will be a good communicator and team player with a strong background in maintenance.
Note: All maintenance employees are required to drive University vehicles daily as part of their primary functions.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assigns and inspects the work of HVAC Mechanics and General Maintenance Mechanics, initiates corrective actions to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion.
- Provide preventive maintenance activities, diagnoses malfunctions of mechanical equipment.
- Maintains records of repairs and equipment requiring future service.
- Uses power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Skills in analyzing, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC air handler equipment, pumps, exhaust fans, compressed and evaporative coolers.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers to inform them of the progress with the repairs on their equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training and/or experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
- Ability to drive a University vehicle according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience.
