Location:

This role is based in our offices in Moorestown, USA, although you will be required to travel to our other sites around the USA.

Role:

Reporting to the local Managing Director, and with a dotted line to the Group HR Director Deputy, you will manage, co-ordinate and maintain an effective and efficient generalist HR function for the USA, covering all disciplines of human resources activities.

This role will also require you to be proactive and work with managers in a business-partnering way, providing them with solutions to any HR matter, and really understanding their business areas. We also have a strong desire to continuously improve our function and so you would be instrumental in making recommendations to do this.

You will also be a key member of the Group HR team, and will work on Group HR initiatives, including the implementation of a new HRIS.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with, coach and support stakeholders in the business, sometimes internationally, to ensure the smooth running of the company from a people perspective and support their development of people management.
  • Provide strategic advice across a broad range of HR issues.
  • Educate and advise on the performance management cycle, retention, engagement, diversity, and flexible working.
  • Handle complex employee relations cases such as disciplinary, grievances and sickness absence.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records.
  • Provide a first class HR administration service.
  • Provide HR process advice to management taking onboard any legal requirements.
  • Continually evaluate, improve and update HR practices, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the recruitment process (including defining best route, working with external suppliers, approvals, interviewing, hiring, reference and background check, drug testing policies, induction), working with the recruiting managers. Prepare paperwork for orientation and induction into the Flowbird Group.
  • Ensure the US Employee Handbook and associated policies are maintained and updated.
  • Work with management in a pro-active way, make recommendations and implement HR initiatives/projects to enhance the business.
  • Keep up to date with current employment legislation and highlight important changes to management.
  • Work with management to define an annual development plan and oversee the training and development of all employees.
  • Support the business on engagement, succession and retention plans.
  • Support the business with internal communications activity.
  • Support the business on wellbeing plans and initiatives.
  • Provide detailed HR reports where required to the USA and Group.
  • Process payroll and manage any payroll queries.
  • Maintain the time and attendance system.
  • Ensure any annual company-wide process is carried out accurately and at the agreed timeframes.
  • Administer different benefit programs (401k, medical, dental, short-term and long-term disability, Life, FMLA, Unemployment Compensation, Workers Comp, ACA,COBRA, EAP, Telemedicine, etc).
  • Support the RFP process with HR related items like prevailing wage, EEO statements and relevant business licences.
  • Attend any relevant business meetings to represent the HR function.
  • Provide information as required to assist with company financial audits, tender applications and quality audits.
  • Act as Affirmative Action Plan representative; ensure compliance with AAP.
  • Work towards and meet all aspects of the annual HR Plan.
  • Travel to the different locations when required.

Experience:

  • Extensive generalist HR experience
  • Relevant HR qualification
  • Degree qualified in Human Resource Management or similar
  • Experienced in working with management in a business-partnering and proactive approach
  • Experienced in implementing HR initiatives and projects to drive the business forward
Key Skills:
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR practices
  • Computer literate, specifically Google, Word and Excel, and use of HR systems
  • Able to make sound decisions displaying good judgement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
  • Tactful, resourceful, innovative, ability to work under pressure
  • Team player but able to work alone
  • Pro-active in approach and able to question current ways of working
