Job Description
SUMMARY:
To manage a human resources department including, but not limited to overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, disciplinary action, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, and long-term staffing strategies. This person must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, impartiality, have a high sense of and commitment to integrity, problem-solving and conflict management skills, and serve as the liaison between company and employees. Room to grow into multi-state, multi-company role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Development, administration and training of personnel rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the form of an employee handbook
2. With upper-level leadership collaboration, determine job pay grades per classification.
3. Identify and lead employee orientation and trainings.
4. Employee benefit administration and negotiation
5. Frequent travel to other locations
6. Attend mandatory meetings.
7. Serve in an advisory role to minimize company liability.
8. Sets policies for hiring and oversees adherence to EEOC and affirmative action programs and diversity goals set by the corporation.
9. Establishes policies that seek to increase retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction and high morale.
10. Approves terminations, and exercises care that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary or discriminatory.
11. Oversees maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records. Ensures that rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
12. Keeps abreast of legislation affecting human resources; trains management and monitors company policies to ensure compliance.
13. Oversees preparation of job descriptions and compensation programs. Seeks incentive programs that encourage excellent performance and increase retention rates.
14. Works with top management to set long-term staffing goals and strategies.
15. Makes and submits regular reports.
QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's (preferably a master's) degree in business or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years of Human Resources and supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of local and federal laws affecting human resources administration.
- Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Able to use computer and MS applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and written, verbal and electronic communication skills.

Rawson Builders Supply currently has a residential division, a commercial division and a custom door and millwork shop. Known for providing quality building and remodeling products as well as expert installation service, Rawson's service area includes Southern New Mexico and Texas.
