Human Resources Manager

Growing distribution company of industrial packaging containers in Edison seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager with excellent communication skills to lead the Human Resources Department.

Attention to detail and computer literacy are essential to the position as well as high ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the CFO and the CEO and is responsible for the following:

• Talent scouting: Interviews, hiring, credential inquiries, and onboarding
• Payroll cycle
• Vacations, Paid Time Off, Benefits (401k and health insurance)
• Handbook revisions
• Driver DOT testing
• Worker Compensation claims
• FMLA and non-compensated leave
• Performance reviews
• Investigations, warnings, and terminations
• Company compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

Abilities and Skills:

• Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, benefits, performance management, safety, and employee relations
• Previous experience conducting investigations and handling unique situations
• Coordination with outside counsel on complex issues
• Team player, problem solver, and mentor
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or comparable degree
• A minimum of five years of progressive experience
• SHRM certification or comparable preferred
