Salary: The hiring range for this position is $60,260 - $71,519 with excellent benefits. The full salary range is $82,779. Actual starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience in accordance with the current Senate compensation guidelines.
Telework: This position works on-site in the Minnesota Senate Building and Capitol during the legislative session (January-May). When the legislature is not in session, flexible hybrid options may be available.
Days of Work/Hours: Monday-Friday/8am-4:30pm.

Position SummaryThis position serves as the talent acquisition and benefits expert to staff and Senators by administering the full-cycle recruitment process and providing resources regarding programs such as annual open enrollment and benefits enrollment/administration. Additionally, this position will provide regular administrative and technical human resources support to staff and Senators.
An ideal candidate will have broad human resources experience with familiarity in our employment system, SEMA4 (Peoplesoft) and our HRIS reporting system. We seek someone who is highly organized, innovative, and able to work independently.
Position Description - Human Resources Generalist (Talent Acquisition)
Minimum QualificationsTo facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
Two (2) years of general or technical level HR experience in one or more of the following areas: talent acquisition, benefits administration, and/or HRIS systems and reporting.
*NOTE: Completion of a bachelor's degree in human resources or a closely related degree program may substitute for one (1) year of the above experience.
In addition to the qualifications listed above, applicants must demonstrate:
- Ability to work in a non-partisan capacity, supporting all members and staff regardless of party affiliation or position.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a smaller team.
- Ability to communicate with sensitivity and discretion, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service skills to provide positive, helpful, and friendly interactions with employees and Senators.
- Professional human resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.)
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and human resource information systems, such as SEMA4 and OBIEE.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to lead informative presentations (i.e., benefit meetings, onboarding sessions, etc.)
- Experience working in a complex, ever-changing environment.
