Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of onboarding new hires (may assist with recruiting, orientation, benefits enrollment, etc.)
- Answers routine benefits questions for managers and employees and assists HR Director with problem solving benefit issues with carriers.
- Reconcile monthly benefit provider invoices against payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
- Administer all aspects of leaves ensuring that all necessary forms, documentation, and correspondence are completed (FML, PFML, work comp, short term or long-term disability).
- Input personnel changes needed into Payroll/HRIS System (salary changes/adjustments, etc.)
- Provide HR support to ensure compliance with State, Federal laws and regulations and industry accepted standards.
- Create and issue communications for Company Health and Wellness plan (distribute monthly/quarterly)
- Maintain data and information required for annual report filings for AAP, EEO, VETS
- Assist with responsibilities related to processing bi-weekly/weekly payroll, time and attendance reports, etc.
- Organize and conduct new hire orientations.
- Works with department managers on placing job postings and assist with pre-screening applicants.
- Attend local driver meetings occasionally, travel may be required during open enrollment.
- Work Closely with Safety and Transportation Managers to assist with DOT, Safety, and compliance issues.
- Participate on Events Committee as well as with department organized events.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Associates Degree, or 2-3 years prior HR experience with strong understanding of HRIS systems and payroll
- 2-3 Years prior experience with ADP payroll or similar system
- Understanding of HR laws and regulations
- Fluent Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Powerpoint, intermediate Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of the Organization
- Strong oral, written communication, and time management skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Professional and able to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Occasionally may speak in group meetings
- Able to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
