The Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the human resources programs. He or she will perform a range of duties supporting Field and Corporate Employees.
The duties consist of safety, policies, training, labor relations, relocation, diversity, education, recruiting and other HR programs. The HR Generalist will also provide resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure profitable business operations. The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for overseeing personnel management, including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies. This individual ensures that the Human Resource department and Fix Network are in compliance with all applicable federal and state legislation.
Job Duties
- Communicate to internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations
- Promote and educate employees on company offerings, programs and processes
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements (federal and state)
- Ensure compliance with all Labor Law and Health and Safety regulations and respond and resolve work orders issued
- Conduct workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise among staff in the department
- Ensure that all employees understand, comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Anticipate and identify emerging issues, trends and problems that affect the policies and programs of Fix Network
- Coach and Administer progressive disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
- Turnover analysis and ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
- Monitor and assist in ensuring job descriptions are current and assist in creating new ones for new roles
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize equipment and training/orientation required
- Oversee adequate orientation and training within the organization
- Assist in discovering new ways of attracting top talent and ensure that the Company has an emergency succession plan in place for unforeseen staffing changes
- Assist in developing and provide recommendations for policies and processes for corporate employees and Network partners
- Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations
- Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
- Provide leadership and coaching to corporate and corporate shops managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development
- Monitor employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met
- Attend recruitment fairs as requested, supporting Network and Corporate recruiting efforts
- Participate with committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees
- Assist in planning and organizing corporate staff and Network events and recreational activities as required
- Assist in creating content for internal intranet such as the HUB, UKG, Ignite, etc.
- Respond to HR requests and provide general information and assistance over the phone, electronically in ECM and in person
- Conduct corporate shops visits on a regular basis.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- University or College Diploma, preferably in business specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent
- A SHRM designation or working towards is considered an asset
- 5-10 years of experience as a Human Resources specialist
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
- Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulations preferred
- Work experience in recruitment preferred
- Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated knowledge of change management.
