Pelican Grand Beach Resort is hiring a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional personality to join our Human Resources team. Essential Responsibilities include:
- Work directly with the Human Resources Director daily on most projects
- Post open positions and update job descriptions, to include promoting open positions
- Conduct pre-screening and formal interviews
- Process onboarding using Paylocity to include: conduct background checks, verify employment eligibility using proper I9 documents and Everify, input all new hire information into system
- Schedule and conduct New Hire Orientations
- Conduct new hire onboarding including providing a tour and helping new hires complete required trainings
- Educate employees on all company standards and benefits
- Complete verifications of employment
- Keep managers aware of all policies and procedures
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, new technologies in human resources and employment law
- Maintain I9 files and perform I9 audit
- Stay up to date with HRD on employee relations
- Coordinate, administer and assist employees directly with open enrollments for insurance and 401K
- Plan and execute employee engagement events
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Conduct audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Resolve benefits-related problems and ensure effective use of plans and positive employee relations.
Requirements
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must also be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform these essential functions of the job.
- 1.5+ years HR experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources preferred or related field
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
- Bi/Tri-lingual is preferred (Spanish/French/Creole)
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must possess excellent computational ability
- Must be able to work weekends from time to time
- Must be attentive to details
- Must have initiative
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
