Job Summary
The HR Assistant is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR Department and provide support to HR staff members.
Essential Functions
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource data and records.
- Provides administrative support to the HR department.
- Assists with benefit, payroll, and employee relations functions including answering employee questions on standard policies and procedures, payroll time and attendance administration, processing personnel transactions within our HRIS, and assisting with the administration of various company benefits.
- Assist with planning and logistics for Mentor Program, training events, recruitment and DEI events.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as department-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- 2 years prior related office experience preferred

- Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
- Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
- Works in a typical office setting
- Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
- Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
- May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
- Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
- Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
- Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
