About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist will support the overall operations of the Human Resources Department with a heavy responsibility for full-cycle recruiting (hourly and salaried roles) and the onboarding/offboarding process as well as help support the Director of Human Resources in other areas such as training, employment relations, safety, and data management of the HRIS system.
Duties and Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruiting (70%)
- Oversees full cycle of recruitment efforts for all locations (planning, screening, offer negotiations, onboarding and offboarding).
- Consult with leaders and hiring mangers on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation, and sourcing strategies.
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of candidates and the company brand.
- Source and recruit candidates using various methods
- Provide initial screening of applicant pools, as well as phone screens or interviews where applicable.
- Represent the company at recruiting events, providing company/job information and interviewing candidates.
- Create offer letters, maintain applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as need.
- Arrange pre-employment testing, background, and other onboarding tasks prior to hire.
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
HR Generalist (30%)
- Collaborate with Director of Human Resources to create and implement best in class HR programs, practices, and policies across all departments.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Establishes and maintains records and reports in the HRIS system
- Assures all personnel are up to date on all required safety and required training.
- Conducts safety inspections for facilities under their responsibility.
- Assures all safety records are up to date and readily accessible (written plans, personnel records, MSDS, etc.)
- Perform other duties assigned by Director of Human Resources
About You
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of related experience as a Human Resource Generalist and/or Talent Acquisition
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Recruiting/staffing experience for hourly to senior management levels
- Thorough understanding of human resources principles and practices, including employment law, EEO compliance, benefits and compliance, recruitment/retention, and safety.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation.)
- High level of proficiency with HRIS systems
- Ability multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- High level of organizational skills including strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area.
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Multi-facility experience
- Experience utilizing internet and social media for recruitment
- High level of proficiency with Paycom
