Job description

Position: Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: Director, Human Resources

Summary: The HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department, assisting in hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This highly visible role has an emphasis on employee engagement, retention and culture.

Classification: Not Overtime Eligible (Exempt)

Major Activities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited

HR Generalist Duties:

  • Demonstrates the ability to understand business goals in a manufacturing environment and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company.

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Including monthly and yearly audits of these processes. Annual background checks with confidentiality and security policy forms.

  • Ability to support a 24/7 environment that has multiple shifts. Attend employee meetings on off hours every other month.

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. Administrative work is on-going and expected in this role to include filing both electronic and static records.

  • Conducts new hire orientation and is a faculty member of PCI University

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

  • Maintains knowledge of HR and Technology trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, culture, retention and employment law.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Acting backup for payroll processing (ADP workforce now)

  • Supports all Recruitment activities as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Apps,

  • ADP experience preferred

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and/ or 3+ years Human Resource Generalist experience or blend of operations and HR.

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing environments

  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred

  • Benefit administration experience preferred

    Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
