This position is located at Marine Corps Community Services - Headquarters & Service Battalion, Henderson Hall, Arlington VA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Human Resources Technician (Training/Benefits).

Major Duties Serves as a facilitator and HR representative responsible for the delivery of training and benefit programs. Responsible for facilitating current MCCS courses and following performance measures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the MCCS training programs. As a strategic partner, assists managers and supervisors to ensure the overall success of staff through appropriate and timely training.

May plan and develop course material that are technically and procedurally sound and in accordance with prescribed course framework such as; study guides, visual aids, simulations, written tests, training aids, and course outlines. Organizes, illustrates, interprets and adapts instructional material as required to reach and motivate employees. Coordinates the training program with other MCCS personnel.

Monitors and tracks employee training statuses. May be required to research outside sources and obtain information, materials and costs to meet instructional needs. Participates in special projects such as pilot programs, process improvement teams, focus groups and working groups.

Provides assistance/administers employee benefits programs, i.e. Drug Free Workplace Coordinator, Group Health, Dental and Life insurance, 401(K) Savings Plan, Group Retirement Plan, Tuition Reimbursement. Plans, develops and implements employee award and recognition programs in accordance with current policies and practices.

Plans, develops and distributes MCCS Henderson Hall Training Schedule and Newsletter on a routine basis. Processes, inputs and maintains records necessary to implement and track benefit and training related matters. Maintains a high degree of contact with employees and provides advice and assistance to employees regarding employee benefits problems and issues.

Conducts research, identifies and explains complicated and in-depth employee benefit-related issues such as health benefits conversion and complicated annuity calculations and information, conducts orientation classes, briefings and seminars. Reviews related rules, regulations and internal instructions for comments. Explains rules and regulations to employees pertaining to assigned functions.

Assists in other HR areas as needed. Provides world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.

Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.

Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact, for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.

Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury, occupational illness and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have at least three years of experience working in a Human Resource Office OR must possess practical knowledge and skills in personnel procedures, rules and regulations. Must have strong experience working with Microsoft Office.

Must have knowledge of a wide range of training methods techniques, and tools used to resolve instructional problems. Able to manage a variety of normal classroom situations. Must possess excellent customer service and computer skills.

Must be able to work in a fast paced, demanding work environment. Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and flexibility to adapt with changing requirements. Must be able to independently plan and conduct training sessions regularly and frequently within prescribed course framework.

Must be able to work a varied schedule which may include occasional evenings and weekends. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
