St. Clair Country Club is located 10 miles from Pittsburgh, in the south hills area of Western Pennsylvania. Located on 265 acres of property, St. Clair Country Club’s facilities include an 18-hole Championship Golf Course and a 9-hole Terrace Golf Course. In addition to its golf courses, St. Clair Country Club has a short game practice facility and a driving range. PURPOSE/GOALS:
The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for various functions of the Human Resource department.
This position's ideal person has proven expertise in Human Resources, including benefits administration, recruitment, compensation, compliance, reporting, and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership, and guidance and ensure consistency with the execution of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Chairing the Safety Committee, scheduling Safety Committee monthly meetings and annual training, maintaining meeting minutes and attendance as well as keeping us in compliance with our HandS application each year
- Work with management to ensure effective communication, implementation, and/or administration of HR programs and policies to include, but not limited to, performance management, benefits programs (i.e., open enrollment, leave of absence and return to work programs, wellness programs, etc.) department structure and associate changes (i.e., promotions, demotions, transfers), etc.
- Investigate and recommend action to be taken, and participate in claims hearings regarding unemployment compensation claims, workers’ compensation claims and Equal Employment Opportunity claims.
- Develop and recommend recruitment objectives and plans; oversee the recruitment process and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of required compliance files, department policies, and procedures.
- Create and maintain a pipeline of top-quality candidates through sourcing potential and passive candidates, referrals, job fairs, and direct applicants.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand their objectives, assess their hiring needs, develop selection criteria, create recruitment strategies, and manage searches through the recruitment life cycle.
- Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices in Human Resources; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.
- Provide guidance on HR-related regulations and ensure compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory requirements such as EEOC, AAP, OFCCP, SOX, etc. as well as internal Human Resource policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources generalist experience
- Experience with recruitment at all levels, onboarding, pay administration, policy interpretation, and employee relations required.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated, effective skills in dealing with associates at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills are required.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws required
- Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or comparable discipline required; Bachelor's degree preferred
