The HR Representative II, LOA Lead position is located in Brea, CA and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time!

The HR Representative II, LOA Lead for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for managing multiple, concurrent projects, scheduling and running meetings (vendors and internal teams) and producing reports as required. This role is responsible for the management of vendor accounts to foster long-term business relationships will work to achieve the set KPIs and MBOs.
This P2 role will be responsible for business decisions that affect the business, training managers/HRBPs, and will be making independent decisions
- Answer questions as the subject matter expert (SME) for managers, associates and HRBPs
- Design continuous improvement for leave process to reduce Muda
- Document all processes to align with improvement and monitor steps taken for sustainability.
- Update all data in Workday for all leaves and note all data needed for Ler Coe cases
- Create and conduct trainings for People Leaders and new HRBP as needed (refer to the legal training deck and the Danaher Benefits website when available
- Monitor all leaves for FMLA exhaustion or ineligibility and work with HRBP with accommodation letters et al.
- Assist in completing accommodation letters after interactive processes with associate is completed.
- Monitor all leaves for STD exhaustion or ineligibility and work with the HRBP for next steps.
- Work with ReedGroup and escalate any issues or concerns to ensure all leaves are processed timely and without errors.
- Monitor all LTD leaves and partner with NYL, Legal and HRBP for next steps.
- Review all leave notices and ensure no overlap with Worker's Compensation
- Confirm receipt of RTW note for self-medical leaves and perform the interactive process for any restrictions.
- Work with Payroll for leaves affecting compensation (reduced schedule; intermittent leaves)
- Complete return action in Workday once confirmation is received.
- Manage and coordinate the ADA process with the HRBP.
- Provide dates and accurate case history upon request for HRBP or legal.
- Attend meetings with all Absence Partners from other OpCos as available.
- Be liaison for legal (Ler COE) and HRBP
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Coordinate leaves of absence and process claims or requests (FMLA/CFRA, ADA, workers' compensation etc.) with the Reed Group, the Leave of Absence vendor.
- Track FMLA time used on a rolling calendar year and coordinate the use of leave time with the payroll process.
- Work with regional management staff to determine return to work and engage in the interactive process as necessary.
- Manage projects as determined by the leadership team as needed.
The essential requirements of the job include
- Associate Degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent education and/or experience a plus
- Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, FMLA and other applicable legislation
- Agility in working independently and collaboratively and prioritizing a diverse workload
- Demonstrated work with different levels in organization
- Working experience with Leave of Absence programs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- 2+ years administering LOA programs
- Certification in FMLA
