How you'll help
As part of the People team, our People Operations Analyst will help us grow and scale here at UpStream. You will join us at a critical point in our growth - not only of the organization, but of our People team - and will have the runway to partner with a wide variety of leaders across the organization as we scale.
Our ideal candidate is a human-first, detail-oriented, and curious People Operations Specialist with early stage/startup experience who loves interacting with candidates, employees, vendor partners and UpStream Leaders. As we build, we need colleagues who are comfortable operating in unchartered territory and energized by navigating within ambiguity to get stuff done. You will be expected to facilitate a swift, efficient, and high touch process while delivering an exceptional experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
You will need to be comfortable working in a dynamic start-up environment and even more comfortable developing collaborative working relationships. You will be pivotal in delivering an amazing employee experience and fostering an inclusive culture to make UpStream a best-in-class workplace.
What you will do
- Responsible for the administration of various aspects of the employee lifecycle including Talent Acquisition, Preboarding, Onboarding, Offboarding and employee changes with a focus on employee experience and compliance.
- Communicate excitement and a sense of urgency with candidates and UpStreamers and provide exceptional service as the first point of contact for employee questions and requests, escalating as appropriate.
- Support the administration and maintenance of our People systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Liaise with HR, Talent Acquisition, IT & Finance team members to ensure seamless integrations and data flow across HR systems; provide innovative approaches to enhance efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain automated reporting and dashboards highlighting Talent Acquisition and People data for senior leaders, ensuring data integrity and consistent approach.
- Coordinate Pre-Employment Paperwork associated with internal and external processes.
- Work in close partnership with other People Functions and cross-functional teams to facilitate an exceptional New Hire Launch (Orientation).
- Monitor the effectiveness of all People Operations efforts and share ideas for continuous improvement of the employee experience.
- Help continuously improve and create processes and workflows, leveraging systems, tools, and automation.
- Assist with documentation, maintenance, communication and training of people operations processes and programs for the wider team.
- Champion an outstanding experience for employees and business partners by continuously earning trust and establishing strong relationships that position the People Team as a critical partner.
- Manage candidate and employee information within internal and external databases.
- Stay informed about changing policies and procedures.
- Develop a thorough understanding of UpStream's business model and the expectations required for success.
- Champion an outstanding process experience for candidates, employees, and business partners by continuously earning trust and establishing strong relationships that position People Operations as a critical partner.
- As a rapidly growing organization there will be other projects and duties assigned.
What you'll need
- 2+ years of proven, measurable success in the Human Resources/People Operations field.
- Exceptional ability to listen and understand the needs of our candidates, teammates, and business partners and to fulfill those needs with speed and grace.
- Demonstrated success leveraging technology such as ATS, HRIS, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. to optimize workflows.
- Ability to analyze data, produce executive-facing deliverables, and a strong command of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Exceptional customer services skills and ability to communicate both verbally and written with all levels, both internal and external.
- You live and breathe people and are skilled at developing trusting relationships.
- You keep up to date with trends and can relate to a diverse population as well as dynamic internal teams.

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Paylocity & Greenhouse ATS experience highly preferred.
