Masis Professional Group has an excellent HR opportunity in the Harford CT area.

This position is responsible for the administration and oversight of all of the company’s programs.   You will provide both strategic and tactical oversight of the organization's Benefit and Payroll platforms.  You will also oversee the successful execution of HR processes and technologies (HRIS) to drive an efficient and optimal employee experience. Other areas of responsibility include recruiting, employee relations, and AA/EEO compliance.

Role & Responsibility

  • Responsible for designated areas of accountability in providing Human Resource support to the employees and managers.
  • Oversee and supervise the organizations payroll function and payroll administrator ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with internal controls, state, local and federal regulations. Evaluate and improve processes, systems and transactions.
  • Own the HRIS function, partner and vendor management, and its daily management, along with implementation and reporting.
  • Provides continuous improvement expertise to HRIS programs, seeking out and implementing efficiencies.
  • Keep current of any changes in state wage and hour regulations (ie. minimum wage, sick leave regulations, overtime, etc.) to ensure proper payroll policies are enforced.
  • Ensure high quality HR transactional data management through audits and internal controls
  • Facilitate external and internal audits related to payroll and benefits to ensure the department is adhering to company and legal standards.
  • Maintains and administers all company benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, FSA, 401(k), COBRA and employee leaves.
  • Serve as the point of contact for requests for accommodation, for return to work programs and coordinate information flow of among those with responsibilities relating to compliance.
  • Responsible for the preparation and data tracking of the Company’s Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Manage employee enrollments into group plan benefits and retirement plans.
  • Knowledge of Multistate and Federal wage and hour laws including FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, HIPAA, social security and DOL requirements.
  • Assist employees in clarifying and communicating company information around benefits, on-boarding, general compensation, policies and procedures, etc.
  • Manage Open Enrollment process, update annual benefit guides and update intranet with updated summary plans, etc.
  • Administers 401(k) program and manages annual 401(k) audit.
  • Provides coaching and responds to escalated 401(k) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Completes special projects by conducting research and surveys, develops and organizes information.

Job Requirement

Experience

  • Experience as an HR Manager, HR Operations Manager, Payroll/Benefits Manager, or similar role
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a Generalist or Payroll/Benefit capacity.
  • 7+ years prior experience with processing payroll, utilizing electronic payroll software and a strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and transactions.
  • 7+ years of Benefits related experience in benefits strategy and design.
  • Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effectively manage open enrollment annually while working with benefits vendor.
  • Knowledge and application of federal and state regulations needed, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA, ACA, and 5500’s.
  • Communicate frequently to company associates throughout enrollment for maximum alignment.
  • Ability to ensure all employee relations matters are handled in a professional, appropriate and legally compliant manner, escalating appropriate issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal groups such as recruitment, immigration and global mobility, benefits, compensation, and onboarding to develop and maintain competitive HR practices and proactively solution non-standard cases as they arise.
  • Partner with HR and business counterparts to build global HR processes to foster a consistent employee experience across the organization.
  • Lead and/or participate in HR programs and initiatives and HR Operations projects, such as the HRIS Payroll project, annual compensation and performance review, HR data management, and handbook projects.
  • Highest sense of urgency but maintains accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and a complex set of stakeholders.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration discipline.
