Job description

Title: HR Immigration Coordinator

Location: Midtown

Org Unit: Immigration

Work Days: Monday-Friday

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $27.75 - $35.00

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary

Under direction, the Human Resources Immigration Coordinator provides immigration support services necessary to facilitate the enrollment and/or employment of international scholars, students, and staff and to ensure institutional compliance with related institutional and governmental regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains, and updates immigration records, including SAP, Employee Central, Windstar and Tracker for our foreign nationals and their families. Ensure records are input in a timely fashion and are kept up to date.
  • Maintains Tracker database assuring up to date documentation of passports, social security numbers if applicable, and approved appointments/re-appointments.
  • Responsible for communicating all visa expirations to WCM departments on a timely basis.
  • Assists in preparation of written information for inclusion on the Human Resources website, presentations, electronic mailings, handouts, and orientation.
  • Manages process for scheduling medicals, background checks, and exports controls as appropriate for voluntary staff.
  • Responsible for securing and processing student's tax questionnaires.
  • Serves as an Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) for the WCM J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, responsible for contact information updates. Responsible for J-1 Travel validations.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks supporting the Senior Immigration Associate.
  • Provide additional administrative support to the department including coverage for compliance and onboarding.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional and governmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education
  • Bachelor's Degree


Experience

Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident as per federal exchange program officer eligibility requirements.

Experience with Immigration software; Tracker and Tax analysis software; Windstar preferred.

Experience with SAP, Employee Central, and Success Factors preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
