LifeStream is a behavioral health and social services organization that provides high-quality treatment, education, care management, rehabilitation, child welfare, primary care and homeless services to children, adolescents, and adults. Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties.

JOB SUMMARY: The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for assisting the Vice President Human Resources with the assigned Human Resource functions that actively support the culture of LifeStream through retention of highly talented professionals who are passionately devoted to LifeStream's mission to create hope, support recovery and promote health for its consumers. The Employee Relations Specialist supports the employees of LifeStream throughout the employment lifecycle in several different ways and will have broad knowledge of human resources, capable of relating to a diverse range of individuals, able to complete thorough investigations, manage risk well, and acts fairly despite conflicting demands of stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Vice President of Human Resources with managing the assigned areas of human resource functions for the agency.
  • Collaborate with training coordinator with Relias Training needs (On-boarding, HR software user training, annual compliance)
  • Review and assists managers with the content of annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor documents used to evaluate, correct and enhance job performance and other workplace behaviors, assuring overall fairness and consistency, and meeting business requirements (i.e. corrective actions)
  • Provide coaching and consulting to managers in order to enhance their people and performance management skills.
  • Assist with training and regulatory audits as needed.
  • In collaboration with VP, HR manages compliance with existing state, federal and local laws as well as government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, Form I-9, etc.
  • Responsible for creating, modifying, executing and maintaining HR related surveys such as Exit interviews.
  • Provides consultation to leadership, managers and department contacts on human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with LSBC regulations, federal and state laws.
  • Collaborate with VP of Human Resources with Developing, recommending and implementing personnel policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports related to employee relation complaints in compliance with all policies.
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Responsible for Unemployment claim processing
  • Responsible for oversite of Leave of Absence process and monitoring of approvals
  • Responsible for oversite of ADA approval process from start to finish.
  • Participates in the planning and administration of training projects as assigned.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems related to assigned staff members.
  • Responsible for leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA; discusses with HR Manager for approval.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
  • Willingness to abide by the company's published rules and regulations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • This position is not remote.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources required or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience
    • Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in Human Resources required.
    • Minimum of Two (2) years' experience in Employee Relations, including complaint investigation experience, required.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • Must be Over the age of 21 required.
    • Minimum of 5-years driving experience required.
    • Possess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
    • Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required.
    • Safe Driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass a Level II Background Screening
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drugtest.
