About the Opportunity

Northeastern University's Roux Institute is designed as an engine of innovation, talent-building, and economic growth for Portland, Maine, and northern New England. Partnerships set our model of graduate education and research apart. With leading companies and nonprofit organizations at the table from day one, we are creating programs that are preparing the workforce to stay agile and thrive in a competitive landscape powered by artificial intelligence. We are nurturing an environment for high-impact research and innovation in computer and data science, digital engineering, the advanced life sciences and medicine, and other tech fields. And we are helping entrepreneurs launch businesses focused on and powered by technology. Together, we envision an innovation corridor that in the coming years will stretch from Boston to Portland and beyond.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR resource to leadership at the Roux Institute located in Portland, Maine. The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor to the management team and influences workforce decisions related to talent management, succession planning, leadership, development, compensation, recruitment and retention, and employee relations. The HRBP aligns and implements HR strategies that support the business requirements of the Roux. The HRBP works collaboratively with other HR team members on processes, policies, and programs that reach across the global university system. The HRBP provides support for Workday processes to leaders and provides coaching on workforce management practices. The HRBP provides coaching on employee relations issues and serves as the subject matter expert in handling confidential and sensitive matters.

The ideal candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of applicable state/federal employment laws, University/HR policies/processes, and talent management practices. Ability to establish credibility, build relationships and act as a trusted advisor to clients. Effective consultative and influencing skills.
