Sager Culture and Position Description:

As a medium-sized company with over 400 employees located across North America, we have a high performing, family-oriented team working together in support of our customer first vision. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, we are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to work in our Middleboro, MA location. The HRBP is an individual contributor that provides human resource consultation, delivering value-added service to management and employees that support the accomplishment of business objectives. This position does not have oversight of our payroll, benefits and compensation. Responsible for supporting departments with all people related activities - including but not limited to talent management, training/development, culture/engagement, employee relations, performance management, organization development, policy development and other people related duties. Contributes to the development of workforce plans and understands external customer trends and issues in the industry that could potentially impact business. Acts as liaison with other HR functions. How you will spend your time:

  • Partner, strategize, advise and influence the management team on all aspects of people management and leadership.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with management team and employees.
  • Works together with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations and engagement, maintain a good working environment, build morale and retention, decrease unwanted turnover.
  • Gains deep knowledge of corporate business practices, policies, organization structure, roles/responsibilities to fully understand business and industry dynamics.
  • Ensures the company’s workforce has the right size, shape, cost, and agility for the future.
  • Conducts meetings with managers and provides HR advice where necessary. First line of contact for day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers (for example employee relations, performance concerns, mentoring, career planning, coaching, etc.)
  • Proceeds with investigation and conflict resolution as needed in compliance with company policy, state and federal laws.
  • Identify the talent gaps and training/development needs in our functional areas.
  • Facilitate/oversees high performance talent and develops (with Management) to ensure there are talents to fill in critical roles –HPE’s fast track employees. Ensures consistency across functional areas in how talent is identified.
  • Support hiring, recruitment, and onboarding new hires by partnering with hiring managers and talent acquisition partner.
  • Acts as a resource to communicate and answer questions on company policies and procedures.
  • Performs exit interviews for terminating employees.
  • Analyzes exit interview data and makes recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement based on pertinent information and trends.
  • Conducts Stay Interviews as requested and prepares summary on information gathered.
  • Provides guidance on the creation and implementation of HR processes and polices.
  • Maintains the Employee Handbook.
  • Oversees companywide annual events. Summer barbecue, holiday party, Toys for Tots, holiday potluck, flu clinic etc.

We’re excited if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, OD, business management or any other related field; SPHR or SHRM certification a plus.
  • Five (5) years of related professional experience as an individual contributor HRBP.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills enabling successfully interaction and partnering with people at all levels of an organization/company.
  • Flexible and team-oriented with the willingness to learn and work through ambiguity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including the ability to diagnose and analyze problems and drive appropriate solutions
  • Ability to respond rapidly and independently to requests, develop and implement creative solutions, and follow through to ensure resolution.
  • Thinks in terms of “how can we” rather than “why we can’t”.
  • Demonstrated ability to align HR programs to business goals and objectives
  • Ethical Practice; Global and Cultural Awareness; HR Expertise; Relationship Management.
  • Initial travel to each of our locations to meet the teams.
