About the Position: This position is with the BLUE GRASS ARMY DEPOT, DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF, G-1 CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES AGENCY (CHRA) AMC HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTORATE AMC HQS CHR SERVICE CENTER. This position is not remote.Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.

To qualify for GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying basic human resources rules, procedures, and operations to accomplish work within an organization; communicating orally and in writing; utilizing office automation to prepare documents and/or reports; and using a database system to query and retrieve information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

To qualify for GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying an extensive body of HR rules, procedures and operations sufficient to perform a wide variety of interrelated and/or non-standard HR support work; using current HR database systems to query, retrieve and analyze information in order to complete assignments; analyzing applicants' proof of eligibility; and initiating security clearance/background investigations via automated systems, such as Personnel Security Investigation Portal (PSIP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Human Resources.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.


To qualify for GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes :applying an extensive body of human resources rules, procedures and operations to accomplish support within the organization; researching interpreting and applying appropriate HR laws, regulations, policies and guidelines in human resources functional areas; using an HR database system to query and retrieve information, such as Defense Civilian Personnel Database System (DCPDS) and Fully Automated System for Classification (FASCLASS) to retrieve classification and recruitment and placement data; applying position classification standards; and assisting Senior Human Resource Specialists in coding personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Human Resources.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).

Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (GS-05) or equivalent.

Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade GS-05 or equivalent.
Education: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
