POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Health Informatics Specialist is responsible for assisting with daily systems checks and takes appropriate actions as required to ensure data availability and accuracy to member health center staff. This individual supports DCPCA efforts in collaborating with member health centers to develop data reporting and extract processes that are common among the health centers. This position also supports DCPCA internal efforts to design and develop data reporting and extract processes for both in-house use and use by external agencies.

 

The Health Informatics Specialist provides remote and on-site support to member health center staff that are using the BridgeIT for eClinicalWorks (eCW) and eLoom reporting platforms, and any other data analytics tools managed by DCPCA. Also, this individual will assist with troubleshooting problems related to reporting and data analytics applications and provide recommendations on the optimal use of these systems. S/He acts as a liaison between health center staff and BridgeIT and eLoom engineers when problem solving. S/He also provides ongoing training for reporting and data analytics tools, including BridgeIT, eCW EBO (Enterprise Business Optimizer), eLoom, Tableau and CRISP DC Reporting Services (CRS).

 

The Health Informatics Specialist assists in the monthly report generation and data validation for external organizations: i.e., Health Center Controlled Network - New York (HCNNY), Uniform Data System (UDS), Ryan White (RW), DC HIV Cohort, DC Cancer Registry, DC Health Colorectal Cancer Control Program (DC3C), DC Health Breast and Cervical Early Detection Program (Project “WISH” – Women Into Stayin Healthy), etc. This individual also represents DCPCA, and its supported health centers, at meetings of eCW national user groups related to FQHC and CHC reporting requirements.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manages/monitors the daily dataset updates from eCW to BridgeIT and eLoom.
  • Manages/monitors the daily scheduled tasks and report synchronization process with member health center’s designated file servers or SharePoint destinations.
  • Provides Level 2 technical support to health center staff regarding BridgeIT and eLoom reporting platforms.
  • Acts as liaison between BridgeIT and eLoom support and health center staff for implementing patches/upgrades and coordinating annual trainings.
  • Works with BridgeIT and eLoom support to diagnose and troubleshoot tickets logged regarding application errors, bugs, development requests, etc.
  • Assists in the monthly reporting requirements for the Health Center Controlled Network New York (HCNNY), DC HIV Cohort and DC Cancer Registry, and other DC Health related data requests.
  • Assists health center staff with ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Develops custom queries using SQL.
  • Provides monthly BridgeIT, eLoom, Tableau and other reporting and data analytics tools training to health center staff.
  • Works with external agencies regarding data extraction projects and secure file upload processes as required.
  • Actively participates in eCW National Reporting User Groups (UDS, Ryan White, NACHC, etc.).
  • Designs and develops custom databases to support new initiatives and funding requirements.
  • Provides additional support to the DCPCA Helpdesk staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • College degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a health care environment (community health center experience preferred).
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and other database and reporting, analytics, and visualizations tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Knowledge of database schemas and relational database concepts.
  • Experience with ODBC database connectivity.
  • Knowledge of entity relationships (ER) models and is comfortable creating and modifying ER modules with tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Oral communication. The individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills, and possesses excellent telephone skills.
