The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Men's Health Educator 2 for our Project Impact Department (Ryan White).

The Men's Health Educator responsibilities include outreach and providing services to clients at risk for HIV infection and disconnected populations infected with HIV for increasing an individual's ability to access and remain connected to care and support services that promote early medical intervention.
Participate in community and cultural events targeting high-risk individuals, distributing condoms, brochures, awareness messages, and encouraging HIV testing.
Developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations, agencies, venues, business establishments and other stake holders that focus on or have access to this high-risk populations.
Assist case management efforts in engaging clients who are resistant to or have poor adherence to medical care due to various psychosocial issues such as mental health, substance abuse, lack of HIV education and underprivileged health literacy.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
* Recruit MSM/Gay/Bisexual men to participate in HIV prevention programs and HIV testing.
* Increase the awareness of PrEP among high-risk individuals.
* Enroll individuals into the PrEP Program.
* Provide basic non-clinical linkage-to-care and patient navigation for individuals seeking PrEP as a practical prevention tool.
* Collaborate with the Linkage Coordinator to implement client retention.
* Assist with locating lost to care patients.
* Provide minor case management services, e.g., home visits, clinic referrals, patient education/counseling, to HIV clients.
* Maintains a strict code of client confidentiality.
* Collect data related to outreach, education, and testing.
* Possess the capability of handling multiple projects simultaneously, with consistent accuracy, follow through, and timely completion.
* Attend required trainings, workshops, and meetings.
* Other responsibilities as requested.
Master's degree in public health education from an accredited college or university
OR
Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
AND
One year experience in public health education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with HIV Clients.
Prior trainings and certifications by DPH in HIV counseling and testing.
Knowledge/Expertise in the topics of HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
