Form of workThe Opportunity:
This is a growth-oriented opportunity for those seeking to advance their career in employee benefits consulting. You will immediately work with clients and vendors doing data analytics and research leading to direct involvement in solutions development pertaining to a broad range of challenging health plan consulting issues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing claims data to evaluate trends, develop projections and identify cost drivers.
- Conducting renewal analyses; benefit plan pricing; analyses of complex technical data with regard to health benefit plans.
- Learning and utilizing models and underwriting principles to support analytical projects and consulting services.
- Preparing financial reports and budget projections.
Requirements:
- Up to five years of experience in health benefits consulting, health insurance, or underwriting roles.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Health Policy).
- Actuarial and/or exam passing experience, while not required, is a plus.
- Professional certification (CEBS, GBA, etc.), or health and welfare underwriting training is desirable.
- Proficiency with Excel and other relevant Microsoft software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Project management skills combined with the ability to succeed in fast-paced environment while managing multiple conflicting deadlines.

The current salary range for this position is $58,500 to $70,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
