SUMMARY:
The Head of Manufacturing Operation is responsible for all aspects of operating the manufacturing plant; ensuring that team members work safely, our customers receive high-quality products, and manufacturing schedules and budgets are met. The successful candidate will be a detail oriented, high energy, servant leader that enjoys the mix of working in a high tenured facility, on the floor problem-solving with associates, then able to wear a ‘Corporate Hat’ and give Board Level Presentations to Stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide servant leadership and direction to the operations staff. Lead by example to promote and build teamwork among all operations team members and support departments. A ‘roll-up’ your sleeves professional willing to be on the floor problem solving!
- Maintain safe working conditions, safe work practices, and good housekeeping. Ensure proper PPE, equipment, and tools are used by to team members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Ensure customer satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain industry-leading quality while meeting or exceeding all budget targets. Drive continuous improvement and create long-term plans to increase the efficiency and profitability of the plant.
- Continually identify and understand bottlenecks that limit production and take necessary corrective action to meet daily, monthly, and annual targets.
- Recognize opportunities to improve operations with better processes, systems, and equipment. Leverage knowledge of team members and support departments to develop and implement improvements.
- Lead, motivate, develop, and teach team members at all levels to provide growth opportunities and ensure succession planning is in place at all levels.
- Ensure flow of materials to meet production needs and budget targets.
- Work with senior management in developing the strategic objectives, annual business plan, and budgets for operations. Ensure that all objectives are met by utilizing lean manufacturing concepts to drive improvements in productivity, cost, and quality.
- Understand all applicable company policies, standards, and procedures. Communicate, guide, and counsel to ensure compliance by all team members. Recognize and discipline employees according to established procedures.

EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, with at least 10-20 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including five years in leadership roles. Robust Lean Manufacturing experience is required.
- Background in OEM automotive or Tier 1 assembly operations.
- Proven leadership skills, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated track record of building team member engagement and leading cross-functional teams to solve problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable presenting to upper management or on the shop floor.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective action plans to drive improvements while gaining engagement from all team members and stakeholders. Data-based decision maker.
- Able to navigate budget schedules and financial reports while understanding basic principles and concepts to research discrepancies to budget.
