Salary and Other Compensation :
The annual salary for this position is between $105k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain security for Hadoop clusters and implementing SSL authentication
- Hadoop Software Installation and configuration whether Cloudera Distribution or Horton Works distribution etc.
- Tuning of Hadoop Cluster and creating new users in Hadoop handling permissions performance upgrades.
- Hadoop Backup and Recovery tasks . Health check of HDP and CDP Clusters
- Support and maintenance of Hadoop Storage (HDFS)
- Manage and review Hadoop log files.
- Configuring Name Node Data Nodes to ensure its high availability.
- Knowledge on CDP and Hadoop Eco-Systems
- Effective Coordination with application teams for Hadoop updates patches version upgrades when required.
- Capacity Planning and Hardware requirement of the nodes Network architecture and Cluster Planning
- Security administration during installation and basic knowledge on Kerberos Apache Knox and Apache Ranger etc.
- Manage Hadoop Log files and analyzing failed jobs
- Performance tuning of Hadoop clusters and Screen Hadoop cluster job performances and capacity planning
- Knowledge on Scripting Skills on Linux environment.
