About the DDM Summer Internship Program:
The Dotdash Meredith Summer Internship Program is a 10 week full time program that runs from June 3rd through August 9th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning, opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus, some fun events throughout the summer!
The rate for our DDM Summer Internship is $20/hour.

About the Team:
The outreach marketing program is a vital contributor toward our SEO business goals, specifically aiming to increase the domain authority of Dotdash Meredith's websites by utilizing authentic outreach strategies to individual experts, bloggers, businesses and institutions, non-profit organizations, and others.
Outreach Marketing works closely with GMs, in-house editorial, transactional commerce teams, growth SEO, accolades/licensing, and PR. Outreach is a great entry point into knowing and understanding how websites succeed in search optimization. Learning the ins and outs of what it takes to win a targeted backlink can be immensely helpful for anyone interested in starting a career in SEO. Skills in outreach marketing are also transferable to careers in SEO, content marketing, public relations, and advertising.
Many SEOs begin their careers in outreach/link-building, so learning how a major publishing company like Dotdash Meredith is able to achieve success at scale can be helpful for anyone interested in digital publishing and specifically SEO.
About the Role:
The Growth/SEO Intern will receive a crash course in what outreach/link-building looks like within the SEO industry and then specifically what it looks like at Dotdash Meredith. They would learn each step of our outreach process in-depth with the opportunity to participate when appropriate. Those steps include:
-Brainstorming with the SEO Team
-Data-mining for business contacts and learning specific tools for finding PR emails/scraping websites
-Writing email templates to be used at scale
-Setting up outreach campaigns with our outreach software
-Managing replies and understanding best practices on how to communicate with prospects in order to win new links
-How to measure success across other SEO metrics and the best ways to report wins.
After learning each aspect of the outreach marketing strategy, the intern will have the opportunity to create their own outreach campaign from start to finish, with their manager's support.
The Growth/SEO Intern will also:
-Work directly in our email software to respond and negotiate with prospects to gain an understanding of what it takes to win a backlink, and learn to prioritize certain types of wins over others.
-Create a weekly progress report that showcases key accomplishments, progress and opportunities identified to help guide their work throughout the summer program.
About You:
For this role, attention to detail is a must along with top-notch communication and organization skills.
-Very strong written communication/conversation skills, especially in writing emails and PR-friendly communications
-Ability to manage multiple relationships and stay organized
-Experience with Google Sheets, Pitchbox (or other outreach software), and Ahrefs (or other SEO tools) recommended

Pay Range
Hourly: $20 - $20
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
