As a Friends of Cyrus Group Home Manager, you will fuse the roles of mentor, leader, and caregiver to ensure your residential program works to help the individuals we serve reach their highest level of independence.
The Ideal FOC Group Home Manager:
- Has received their High School Diploma/GED
- Has a valid Driver's License
- Can pass state-required background checks (Central Registry, MVR, Fingerprinting, Drug Screening, Physical and PPD)
- Has a minimum of 2-years' experience working with intellectually and/or developmentally disabled adults
- Has a minimum of 1 year experience working in behavior management and/or working in a residential setting
- At least 1 year or more managing challenging behavior
- Has a minimum of 1-year experience working in a supervisory role
- Has knowledge and experience working with Therap and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Has received CPR/AED Certification
- Has received DDD Certification
- Has a passion for helping those in need
- Has strong interpersonal skills
- Fosters teamwork and professionalism
- Is comfortable working independently and consistently
- Makes good judgment calls that benefit the FOC program participants and fellow staff members
- Must have the keen ability to responsibly and effectively handle stressful and aggressive challenging behaviors
- All Friends of Cyrus Employees must be in compliance with Executive Order 283, COVID Vaccine compliance.
- At least 1 year or more experience required working with individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring all aspects of your assigned residential program (i.e. day to day operations, staff schedules, doctor appointments, etc.)
- Working directly with residents and staff to ensure appropriate Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and program strategies are developed, implemented, and reviewed to meet the ongoing needs of the clients
- Acting as liaison between Friends of Cyrus (FOC) and our residents' guardians to facilitate communication pertaining to the individuals' needs in each home
- Maintaining the Residential Program and initiating Maintenance Requests to ensure the health and safety of the individuals in the home
- Resolving individual care issues with regard to placement, programming, crisis intervention and admissions/discharge
- Drafting and reporting on all Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs) as well as maintaining knowledge with current state-required trainings on reportable events
- Performing daily audits of your assigned Residential Program to ensure medication administration records, menus, etc. in the home to ensure the home meets the standards set forth by NJAC 10:44A
- Helping to ensure your assigned Residential Program maintains a healthy system of Quality Assurance that operates within agency guidelines and adheres to all established policies and procedures
- Conducting monthly in-services for staff related to individual resident needs, policy changes, upcoming trips, ISPs, home concerns, maintenance, etc.
- Monitoring purchasing and overtime expenses, analysis of monthly expenditures and maintaining client census
- Helping to ensure that all program licenses, certificates and contracts are current and in compliance with all legal/regulatory guidelines
- Providing training to your staff to ensure all residents' needs are met
