We are currently seeking to hire a Grounds Maintenance Mechanic for our food manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ.
The Grounds Maintenance Technician is involved with the successful daily maintenance of the plant and packaging facility. It is the function of this position to preserve assets so that they can safely and economically continue to provide benefit to the organization. The Grounds Maintenance Technician will work continuously to improve maintenance service and assist in the continuous improvement of all buildings and grounds within the organization. This maintenance position is responsible for correcting any minor facility related issue, and may be called upon to assist mechanics with the repair of any piece of equipment on the premises. There is preventative maintenance inspections they must perform, as well as administrative duties with paperwork and work orders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain facilities: lighting, plumbing, grounds, infrastructure, windows, doors, roofs, etc.
- Utilize, respond and document all scheduled and unscheduled work orders in the DirectLine CMMS system.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to supervisor or manager.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations.
- Provide practical solutions to facility related concerns.
- Oversee the work by contractors as required on site to assure safety, quality, efficiency, and performance.
- Seek out opportunities to help work get done safer, faster and more cost effective.
- Heavy lifting with vigorous physical activity in an often hot and slippery environment
- Participate in company activities such as; Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task forces, etc.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Minimum 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience
· Welding knowledge (Preferred)
· General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, lighting, masonary and all facility related work.
· Must be detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task without sacrificing safety and accuracy
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
· Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
