Position Title:      Graphic Design and Content Creator

Department:        Marketing

Reports to:           Marketing Manager

Status:                  Full Time

BASIC PURPOSE

The Graphic Design and Content Creator will be responsible for working alongside the Marketing Manager in creating impactful design solutions and communication materials. They will design brand-consistent marketing collateral and will be responsible for the production of printed and digital materials.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, responsible for maintaining Kroc campaigns and advertising efforts across digital channels, including, but not limited to, The Kroc website, TV screens, social media outlets, and assorted online community calendars.
  2. Prepares final production ready files for both print and web.
  3. Responsible for updating and maintaining social media sites daily. Drive visibility and engagement of The Kroc brand via social media channels. Position our company in the best possible light while being responsive to all kinds of comments and questions.
  4. Manage signage and digital screens throughout The Center to display important messaging about hours, closures and upcoming events for members.
  5. Responsible for taking photos and videos of Kroc Center programs, events, and other activities, and editing for distribution online and in print materials.
  6. Plan, record, edit and distribute short promotional videos for use on website or social media.
  7. Maintain technical knowledge and stay up-to-date on current design and social media trends by researching and watching online tutorials and trainings
  8. Participate in the Territorial Virtual Kroc Marketing team’s monthly meetings and collaborate on Territorial marketing campaigns as assigned by the Marketing Manager
  9. Work cooperatively with other departments within the Kroc Center as needed
  10. Other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements 

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in graphic design, marketing, advertising, communication, journalism, publishing or public relations. 

Alternately, we accept outstanding portfolios without current degree if the applicant is otherwise qualified.  

Knowledge and Skills Required

  1. A portfolio or website showcasing Graphic Design and/or social media work
  2. A genuine interest and passion in Graphic design
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud based programs, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Express, and Acrobat Pro
  4. Demonstrated artistic eye for design and text hierarchy
  5. Experience with website design (knowledge of HTML a plus)
  6. Knowledge of software platforms including Mailchimp, Slack, Trello, and the Microsoft Office Suite including Teams and PowerPoint
  7. Proficiency on Mac platform, and the ability to use PCs as needed
  8. High attention to detail, consistent reliable follow through and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and meet established deadlines
  9. Proven multi-tasking ability as designers often work on more than one design project at a time
  10. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  11. Service-oriented team player who can take initiative, work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment
  12. Must be able to work with, direct, and relate well with co-workers, staff and guests while maintaining the standards of The Salvation Army.
  13.  May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and evenings, and must have willingness and ability to occasionally travel.
  14. Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving and the ability to provide conflict resolution in a positive manner.
  15. Valid driver's license and insured transportation.
  16. Ability to occasionally interface with the public in a cheerful and professional manner.
  17. Bonus: a thematically relevant social media and/or graphic design portfolio.

 

Physical Requirements:

  1. The ability to remain at a keyboard for periods of up to two hours with minimal interruption.
  2. Ability to operate under stressful working conditions in a rapidly changing work environment with multiple priorities is required.
  3. Ability to hold a camera and photograph/video events in large venues for extended periods of time.
